This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest for International Development looking to gain experience. You will work closely with high level staff members, provide substantive contributions to the team and gain a breadth of experience in the bidding process, research, proposal writing, analysis and report writing. Khulisa has an office in Johannesburg, South Africa and there could be future opportunities working in the Johannesburg office for a few weeks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in International Development, or social research desirable.
- Excellent writing and organizational skills essential
- Willingness to embrace a variety of tasks,
- Pro-active self-starter, team player willing to take initiative and go the extra mile
- Advanced computer skills; (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project and other miscellaneous software) essential
- Excellent report writing skills required (drafting and copy editing documents)
MAIN DUTIES:
- Engages in the planning and coordination of new business development processes and research projects.
- Writing research reports, proposals, developing budgets and timelines, developing research instruments, collecting data, analysing data and preparing and facilitating of presentations and training
- Scheduling meetings with consultants and stakeholders and arranging logistics
- Confirming and attending meetings with clients regarding projects and proposals
- Attend DC based conferences or meetings to seek out BD opportunities. Working closely with the South Africa based BD manager during proposal stages.
- Project Management
- General Office Management (including filing expense reports, scheduling and arranging meetings and managing logistics)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master’s degree
- Fluent English (verbal and written)
- 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience essential in a similar position
