Today, UNICEF Data launched its Early Childhood Development Index 2030 (ECDI2030) – a new tool to measure Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicator 4.2.1. The indices in this tool will be invaluable for evaluators working in the field of ECD.
The ECDI2030 addresses a need for nationally representative and internationally comparable data on ECD, collected in a standardized way. It provides a 20-question questionnaire to mothers that has been translated into multiple languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
While a package of implementation tools to support country uptake of the ECDI2030 is under development, the short advocacy video gives background information about the innovative instrument.
