#EvalTuesdayTip: Ensure the Voices of Trafficking Survivors Are Heard

Home » #EvalTuesdayTip: Ensure the Voices of Trafficking Survivors Are Heard

Today, July 30th, is the annual World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, as recognized by the United Nations. In recognition of this day, we published a blog post outlining our top considerations and lessons learned in developing evaluation strategies for – and with – survivors of trafficking in persons (TIP).

Our first consideration is to ensure the voices of TIP survivors are heard. When working with vulnerable populations like TIP survivors, it’s important to remember the expression: “Nothing About Us, Without Us”.  We must ensure the voices of the vulnerable people we work with are heard in a meaningful way – not just in terms of answering questions for the evaluation, but being involved across the design, implementation, evaluation, and reflection stages of the project.

We’ll be sharing more tips from our World Day Against Trafficking blog post in the coming weeks.
