A blog capturing some of the #Khulisa25 birthday activities for those who have only been able to join us in spirit.
On 1 October, Khulisa celebrated a major milestone: our 25th birthday. We are still recovering from a month of bubbles, cake and celebratory messages that streamed in from 50 countries around the world.
We’d love to share some of these happy moments with our friends, former staff, clients and partners who were unable to attend the official birthday brunch on 10 October. Here they are!
#Khulisa25 video & photo slideshow – the then and now
We filmed a video on the day, which is shared via Khulisa’s YouTube channel. It features lovely messages from some of the 60 guests who attended the brunch.
We’ve also selected some photos from the function; and if you want to go down memory lane, here are a slideshow from the past which we screened during the event.
If you would like to download any of the photos, they have been shared via an album on Facebook.
M&E competition
We also announced the winners of Khulisa’s capacity building competition. In July, we launched the competition to assist organisations in need of technical M&E support. We received 12 quality applications.
CareerBuild, a youth mentoring organisation focussed on youth development in South Africa, took first place. The second place went to Ntataise, an NGO that supports women in disadvantaged rural communities with establishing and sustaining early childhood development (ECD) centres. View the winning team here.
The competition winners receive 25 hours of M&E capacity building through free attendance in Khulisa’s inaugural M&E course starting in February 2019. The other applicants were awarded a discount to attend the inaugural M&E course.
More about the M&E course
We announced our M&E Course for NGOs at our birthday brunch. The course with intense practical assignments will set any organisation on a path towards a strong internal M&E system that promotes data-driven decision making, accountability, efficiency, effectiveness and learning. Here is an updated brochure with the dates of the modules. Please fill out the registration form here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VZ8HC7B
The application deadline is January 30 2019.
