October is Khulisa’s birthday month! Peter Capozza and Jennifer Bisgard founded Khulisa Management Services on October 1st, 1993, as one of the first dedicated monitoring and evaluation firms in Africa. The team has grown from three people to 30 since then, and we now have main offices in both Washington, D.C., and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Staff members from Khulisa’s U.S. and South African offices gather for a photo in Johannesburg.

Read more about Khulisa’s interesting origin story in Jennifer’s “farewell (for now)” blog post.

Over nearly three decades, Khulisa has performed 183 assignments in 71 countries for 67 clients – including national governments, large U.S. government agencies, and prominent global non-profits, among others. We have conducted 121 data quality assessments in 22 countries, covering numerous health, education, and economic indicators.

Khulisa continues to grow, expanding our global reach and training young and emerging evaluators to thrive in the monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) field.

We also have a lot of fun along the way.

Happy birthday to us! We look forward to turning 30 next year.
