Many lively discussions took place under the ‘Investing for Impact’ strand at the 7th South African Monitoring & Evaluation (SAMEA) Conference.
Khulisa also has formally joined the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) (read our news item here). The GIIN has developed IRIS+ a standardized system for measuring, managing, and optimizing impact. This link includes a sharable 2-pager about IRIS+. In 2018, the GIIN also produced a Roadmap for the Future of Impact Investing.
Additionally, the American Evaluation Association (AEA) has a rich collection of resources illustrating the link between impact investing and evaluation. Khulisa found this recent series of blogs very useful:
- Integrating Impact Management Into The Private Equity Lifecycle by Gwendolyn Zorn
- Listening To Each Other: Achieving Impact Through The Private Sector In Emerging Markets by Debby Nixon Williams, Alyna Wyatt and Alisee de Tonnac
- Evaluation And Impact Investing: Webinar Series Explores Using Evaluative Thinking in Social Finance And Impact Investing by John Sherman
Better Evaluation also provides a resource about M&E and impact investing.
