M&E For International Development course - Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)

Khulisa designed and implemented a short (three-week) course for graduate level SAIS students, entitled “MEL for International Development”.

The course – offered five times between 2016 and 2020 by senior Khulisa experts – aimed to build an in-depth understanding among the students of:

  • The field of M&E in international development and foreign assistance, and the critical role that it plays in international development programming, management, and accountability;
  • The challenges, innovations, different viewpoints, and debates shaping the field of M&E with respect to international development and foreign assistance programs; and
  • How to apply these concepts to design a basic evaluation, thinking critically about the role of methodologies and theories behind common types of evaluations.
