The Khulisa report on “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Programs for Protection of Refugee Youth in Urban Settings in Africa”, a project Khulisa conducted in 2021-2022 for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), is now available for download on the State Department’s website.

The evaluation used intercept interviews and other quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to survey refugee youth – a vulnerable and hard-to-reach population – in three African cities. The report examines the characteristics of urban refugee youth, the main challenges they face, and the extent to which PRM-supported assistance is helping urban refugee youth to meet those challenges. The report also offers lessons learned and best practices for PRM and its partners.
